I wasn't sure which thread to put this in, but I thought it was worth noting: Al and the band performed Take Me Down on this tour! They played the song on September 15th in Paso Robles, the stop closest on the tour to San Luis Obispo, which is the town that the song is about (and where Al went to Cal Poly). Someone uploaded a recording of the performance to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm6vwK9uq64

It's incredible to hear a new recording of this song. Al's voice has improved SO MUCH in 40 years and I honestly love how he sounds here, especially when he goes up the octave for the final chorus. From what I could gather, the last time this song was played live was on the Bad Hair Tour in 1997, at the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo. A real once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Tangentially related, but a fan who attended the Paso Robles show made an entire music video visiting the locations mentioned in the song. It's pretty charming: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJV2cyZD3Aw
