WeirdAbbott wrote:I love the parody title. And I am equally surprised that it hasn't been done before. As for targets, here is my prediction:
"Roar" -Katy Perry
"Wake Me Up" -Avicii
"Pompeii" -Bastille
"Wrecking Ball" -Miley Cyrus
"Say Something" -A Great Big World (feat. Christina Aguilera)
"Sweater Weather" -The Neighborhood
"Counting Stars" -OneRepublic
"Summertime Sadness" -Lana Del Rey
"Get Lucky" -Daft Punk
"Brave" -Sara Bareillis
"I Love It" -Icona Pop
"Cups" -Anna Kendrick
"Heart Attack" -Demi Lovato
(personal hope) "Harlem" -New Politics

I always look forward to the polka, but I think I might be looking forward to this one the most!
Really solid predictions! That's pretty much what I was thinking as well, although I think the Miley song is going to be a toss up between "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop". I have to think that "Heart Attack" is going to make it since Demi Lovato hasn't yet had a song used by Al. Part of me still wants to put "Gangnam Style" in this, because it was such a huge freaking song, but I will understand if Al opts not to include it. Also, if Al DOES put "Get Lucky" in the Polka, that would mean that Pharrell Williams would appear THREE TIMES in the same album! Craziness.

Yeah, the songs Al picks (except for the themed polkas, which this won't be) tend to be a lot of the same songs chosen for those compilations for obvious reasons. They are both targeting the biggest songs of the time.

Since I did go five for five on the parody predictions ( :magic: ), I figured I would re-post this prediction list here.
(Especially since the first time it was only posted in the oft-maligned Polls & Games subforum).
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop
Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger
One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
Of Monsters And Men - Little Talks
Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
fun. - We Are Young
Skrillex - Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites
Psy - Gangnam Style
Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Justin Timberlake - Suit and Tie
Daft Punk - Get Lucky
There are a bunch of songs I wish I had space to include, but I was limited to 14 songs.
Honorable Mentions: Icona Pop - I Love It, Adele - Rolling In The Deep, One Direction - Story of My Life or Best Song Ever, The Lumineers - Ho Hey, Ylvis - The Fox, Taylor Swift - Trouble, Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven. Roughly in that order...

Call Me Maybe, Gangnam Style, and Get Lucky all seem very very likely to me. I don't know if Al would include The Fox simply because it was a joke song already (well, then again, Gangnam Style kind of was too, but that's much more culturally relevant).

I'm still banking on a folk rock "section" of the polka: Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Of Monsters And Men, possibly that Avicii song with Aloe Blacc in it, etc.

I wouldn't be completely surprised to see The Fox, but it's more of a novelty song than Gangnam Style.

Not a bad job! I like how you put Get Lucky at the end of the Polka, because (to me at least) it fits really well as the last song of the polka.

My predictions are:
"Cups (When I'm Gone)"-Anna Kendrick
"Gangnam Style" or "Gentlemen"-PSY
"Firework" or "Roar"-Katy Perry
Just to be funny "The Smile Song Polka"-His Episode on MLP:FiM
"I Knew You Were Trouble"-Taylor Swift
"Raise Your Glass"-P!nk
"We Can't Stop"-Miley Cyrus

Obviously not a full polka there, but I have some feelings. If he's like, insanely timely (and depends when he made this polka), I would love to see "Rude"-Magic! in there too.

Firework was pre-Alpocalypse, so I think that's out.
It'd be fun to hear a little nod to Cheese Sandwich on this polka. If the party song from MLP could make its way in without seeming too forced, that'd be cool. Probably not very likely though.

I Want it That Way was pre-RWS and it was parodied on PH, so that's not necessarily true.
