9/1/16 Boarding House Park - Lowell, MA

Post by Shelley »

Heads up to anyone interested in going to this concert, this is a public park, which means there is the reserved VIP seating in the very front by the stage, and then the rest is General Admission first come/first serve. AND, folks will start lining up before 7am to snag a spot in the grass.. they let you in 7am, and then you can put down a blanket or low sand chair to save your spot.. and.. just leave it, and come back closer to concert time and it should still be there. Because, New England is weird. Check out http://www.lowellsummermusic.org/page.p ... eating.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details on the rules for what you can use for seating, they're REALLY picky..

I'm not sure I truly trust leaving a spot-saver there all day, but then again I never would have thought leaving a cone or folding chair in a parking spot from which you clear off the snow would save the spot, so *shrug*

Yeah, unless you people in MA are more civil than us down south in Connecticut, if you tried to place your stuff down at place like this to save your spot, when you came back later you'd either find it all in the trash or balled up in the corner by other people who took your spot. Plus don't you think spot saving for 12 hours is kind of a dick thing to do?

This is the closest show to where I live, so I am definitely going.
I'm not fan of GA shows either, and I hate the idea of either leaving my stuff there all day or having to stand in line holding chairs and blankets for hours to get a good seat.
I paid more for the reserved seats up front so I don't have to deal with all that. I'm not sure yet if we'll invite some friends to come with us; if not, I'll sell the extra VIP seats.

I also went with the premium seating for this one.
Premium Seating

Select shows will have a limited number of Premium Seating tickets available. For an additional $100 above the ticket price, concert goers will have a reserved space at the foot of the stage. We will provide a beach chair for your use that evening. This will all be taken care of in advance by concert staff, no need to arrive early! You will be on a special Will Call List for this seating. Your premium fee will support this nonprofit series!
So I guess we find out our seats when we pick up our tickets from will call? Or is it still first come first served? Either way, doesn't really matter much, I'm just happy to have a reserved seat!

This morning I spoke with someone who works there. He said that the premium reserved section does not have assigned seats; is still first come, first served within that section. He recommended arriving early to make sure you can sit together with all the people in your group. It is possible that you and your friends could be split up if you arrive later. There are usually only 30 premium seats (2 rows of 15), so you wouldn't be too far away from each other if you do get separated.

Only 30 seats? Yeah, I'm not worried where I sit then. If you get there before me and Jackie, save us seats! :peace:

I have 1 premium ticket for sale for this concert. I paid $158 for it.
The concert is general admission in an outdoor park, and with regular tickets you have to bring your own lawn chairs and/or blanket.
The premium ticket gives you a lawn chair provided by the venue, which is right in front of the stage, so you don't have to worry about arriving early in the day to pick a good spot.

***EDIT: I'll sell it for $100***

Let me know ASAP if you are interested in buying this premium ticket.
