Beat On The Brat (was: Track 22 Speculation)

Post by coltsmetsfan614 »

The description of the track listing video on YouTube says 23 songs, but there are only 22 listed in the video. Mistake, or leaving an extra surprise out intentionally?
Medium Rarities is a 23-track collection featuring rare, un-released, and other miscellaneous non-album tracks from 1978 to 2017. It will be included in the 15-album box-set, Squeeze Box: The Collected Works of "Weird Al" Yankovic, which will be released on Nov. 24.

Good question! There were 23 tracks slated & remastered, and I see that the promo video shows only 22. I won't disclose what's missing, and I don't know if it will be re-added, however that track will be available elsewhere at some point. It's Al singing, but it's not an Al song and was done with different players.

Based on that last part, I'm guessing another song from a TV show that guest starred on.

Could it be Patterns? That fits with the description Bermuda gave, except for the "will be available somewhere else" part, which I suppose is somewhat possible. Plus it would probably be one of the tracks that "fans would go crazy over".

Not patterns, it's a new track.

How about "What Is Life" from George Fest? That seems to fit the description of Al singing, not an Al song, and other players. Since Al received the Harrison estate's blessing to release Pacman, perhaps this could make an appearance as well.

I originally thought that, but Bermuda said that it "will be available elsewhere at some point", meaning it isn't out yet. The Georgefest CD has been out for a while now, so I assume it's out of the running.

I was hoping to get some of Al's band demos, but I'm happy with the list.

Bermuda, did the band play on "Brain Freeze", or was it different players?
