I have it and I enjoy listening to it very much.

I didn't think of Tom Lehrer when I first heard the song, but now that I re-listened to it recently, I can sort of see where you're hearing it...but I wouldn't say it's a Tom Lehrer style parody

I've got the song(from this collection), it's awesome. It is one of my favorite AL songs actually.

The strange thing is, it sounds NOTHING like his early stuff from around the same time.
He seems to have a much deeper voice in it than his other songs also.

And I'm a big tom lehrer fan, but I don't think they sound the same at all...

I've recently heard this song. I agree Jace, it does sound similar to Tom Lehrer. It is an awesome song.

Does anyone on this board actually own a copy of the original LP? I bet it's one of the rarest ALbums by now.

When we were in SLO Town for the Al concert in 2003, we made a point of visiting the Madonna Inn toilets and Bubblegum Alley just because of this song. And yes, they do raise cows near there.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Does anybody know what the tracks are on the "SLO Grown" album? I know the first one is "SLO Country U.S.A. by Black Berry Ridge Band". But what are the rest?
Guess what!

This song is also available on a compilation whose name rhymes with "Fleetings from Ferberpolis." Hint hint... :P

i really don't like this song, especially if you compare it to other early recordings
it's not terrible but it'snot great. It's just average.
