I know it was a gag for the song/video. But maybe Al was also thinking that the lead singer should of done that to himself because the "MMMMMM" gets really annoying!

That had to hurt to take all the tape off of his mouth. That looks like a lot of tape.

(FYI Ive put electricians tape over my mouth before, and it doesn't hurt as bad as duct tape)

Maybe they scraped off some of the adhesive so it didn't hurt so bad.
