07/20/18 - Forest Hills Stadium, Forest Hills, NY
Saturdays in July are really tough to get off where I work, and I already committed to seeing Iron Maiden in Brooklyn the following Saturday. Unfortunately none of these other dates fall within my 2019 vacation so I'm gonna get a pair of $40 bowl tickets (because seriously, there's no need to be in the very front when seeing an orchestra perform!) and roll the dice. That'll be it for me this tour.....

I got third row center. I was hoping to go with the second price tier, but the options they were giving me were in the side sections so I ended up splurging and going with the front section to get in the middle.

I had to play with the ticket site a bit (it's amazing that in this day & age there are still ticketsellers who will randomly you assign you a seat instead of letting you choose from all the open ones) but finally did get a bowl seat that was straight on view of the stage. I'm telling all of you trying to get front row seats, this really isn't the tour you want to be sitting there. You aren't gonna be able to see the orchestra at all (I know, many of you aren't here to see THEM.....)

And I did get the day off from work, so I'll be there!
It's supposed to be 97² during the day on Saturday, I sure hope it either cools down or they have some sort of air flow system. 3 more days of trying my best to avoid tour spoilers (although somehow stuff keeps reaching me....).
Is there no opening act this year? Tickets say 7pm, what time is the show expected to start and end? I imagine there's some sort of noise curfew in that area....

There is an opening act, kind of. Philly literally started the second it said the show would start on the ticket. The "opener" played for 20 minutes I believe and then there was a 20 minute intermission. The stadium has a 10:00 curfew but if this starts at 7:00 it will be over well before that. Honestly I wish they'd push the start till around 7:45 just to let it cool down a little. At 7:00 the sun will still be blazing and this is going to be a dangerously hot day with no shade or shelter at this venue. Wish this was at Radio City again.richegreen wrote:And I did get the day off from work, so I'll be there!

It is going to be so. very. hot. tomorrow.
It's supposed to be about 96° at showtime, but it's going to feel like 108°. And we'll be all packed together in a large crowd. So that will be delightful.
The things we do to see an Al show.
And the things they do to entertain us. They have to perform in that heat!
