Dear Al, Suzanne, and Nina,
I cannot express my sorrow upon hearing the deaths of Nick and Mary Yankovic. I am in shock as I write this. All I can do is express my sincerest simpathies to the whole Yankovic family, and to tell you that you all will be in my prayers. Nick and Mary Yankovic always seemed like such nice, and caring people who were proud of their son. Just know that you are all in our hearts in this time of sorrow.
Love,
Jillian

Dearest Al and Suzanne-
My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to you today and always. I am really in utter shock at what happened, and it is something no one can get a feel for unless they go through the same thing.
Every bond between a parent and his/her child is unique- I can't get a feel for what you must be going through, because of this special relationship. Suzanne, you too shared a different bond with Nick and Mary.
All I can say is that your parents were two of the sweetest people I'd ever met through a TV...laid back, friendly, funny, and caring people. It is easy to see how you have turned out to be such a wonderful man.
Nina has had some beautiful adult role models in her lifetime. As your father and mother were to you, now you and Suzanne shall be to her.
Thank you for staying so strong. I can't imagine how anyone could be so driven and focused. You are an inspiration to all of us.
May the peace of God be with you, to guard and guide you.
And remember, Al...your father will never stop being proud of you.
We love you and are thinking of you.
All my love always,

In my life there has been so much pain, beyond anything I could ever fathom trying to explain to anyone. There's been only two entities in the world who've ever given me joy-God and Al. Al, I pray for your strength, courage, and comfort in this time of loss. Your mother and father were the epidemy of good will and dimension of heart to have a son like you. This world was blessed to have them and it's people will continue to be blessed by their memory and the legacy that their son has given to us, the fans, all these years as I'm sure he will many to come. Our prayers will be with you, Al. God bless you!

Dear Al, Suzanne, and family,
Sorry for your loss you and your family are in my prayers. May God give you the strength to handle all that you will need too over the coming days. May you have a chance to celebrate your parents lives and remember them with much happiness in your heart and in everything else you do. In my faith we believe that families can be together forever and I truly believe that one day you and your family will be reunited and that Nina will get to know her Grandparents too. And as you keep your memories of you and your parents alive she will know them and they will be with you until you meet again in Heaven.
May God bless you with strength, peace, and love!
Our prayers are with you and your family at this time!
Our deepest sympathies,

Dear Al,
I cannot express the depths of my sadness for you now, and I know your own sadness certainly exceeds that. However, it is clear Nick and Mary raised a son that they frequently and very publically proclaimed they were very proud of. And why not; what parent would not be proud of such a son -- successful yet always humble, talented yet gently self-effacing, famous yet easily approachable, intelligent and driven yet full of love and laughter.
Their influence on you and your work is evident to anyone who knows you and your music. You joyfully invited them to be a part of your work through your TV shows and videos, and they graciously accepted -- and as a result we get an intimate glimpse of how you became the man you are. We see Nick's zest for life, his marvelous sense of humor, his love and devotion for you and Mary. We see Mary's kindness to others, her love of family and friends, her dedication in making things the best they can be. They have helped form you as entertainer, band leader, friend, husband, and father. For all that you are, we all have those two wonderful, jolly, loving people to be eternally grateful to. They have enriched your life, as you have enriched ours and countless others around the world.
So, now, in your time of grief, we recall how you and your music have helped so many of us over our own times of grief and pain. Worries over finding a new job, the loss of a family member, struggles through depression -- I know you have heard the stories from your fans of how your music has brought us back from our depths of our sorrows. Let us -- your fans -- share your grief with you now, and we hope that our combined love and prayers will help bring you back from your own deep sorrows. We owe you at least that, for all you -- and Nick and Mary -- have given us for over 25 years of love and laughter.
And you will laugh again someday. Whenever you are ready. And on that day that you are, we will be ready to laugh once again with you.
May God bless you, Suzanne, little Nina, Aunt Dot, Aunt Lena, and Uncle Joe, and your whole extended family.

posted this on the wrong topic so I'm reposting it here...
My wife and I saw Al in concert at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on April 8th. This was the two-year anniversary of her father's death and I wanted to cheer her up so when we found out about the concert, we made sure we got tickets. After giving us so much joy on Thursday it just tears us up to hear this news and know how much Al will be hurting. We are just stunned. Al, you're a great guy and an awesome performer, and we'll be thinking of you and praying for you and your family.

You know that quote about how "In years to come it won't matter what kind of car you drove, or what possessions you had, or how much money you made, as long as you made a difference in the life of a child." ...? Well, AL, your parents' selfless attention to you, nurturing your creative gifts, not only made a difference but in fact changed the world.
In 1995, I was very depressed over the ending of my first marriage. The only thing that kept me sane was your music and surfing your website. I met an Australian Al fan, Ian, in the newsgroup who became my penpal and eventually my husband. We have three children. And if Ian hadn't been beside me last year when I had a seizure, I wouldn't have known I had one and wouldn't have had the MRI that found the brain tumor that would have killed me...instead, thanks to you and your nurturing parents, Ian was there, my tumor was removed, and I'm going to live. Thanks to their support and love, you had the chance to make millions of people happy, and my wonderful children had the chance to exist.
I hope it helps you to know that their lives made a difference in the world, to so very many of us. And thank you for living up to their highest expectations of you. And we, your devoted fans, truly love you, so if you need anything from us, we're there for you. Suzanne, my condolences on your loss, and please keep a watch on Al's stress level, ok? The Taylor family, for one, are really worried about him.
Al, we're so sorry about your folks. But they're in your heart forever, and in ours. May we all leave as great a legacy as theirs.
