Ah, so technically, they are mentioned, but by their more common name. Gotcha. ;)

Bismarks are usually filled with custard or pudding. I can't stand jelly donuts. Nor could I handle a box of crazed weasles.

Yeah, I don't think starving crazed weasels would taste very good, even with chocolate coating or jelly filling...
Inu-Yasha & Tetsusaiga...it's a bishie thing!
I know a man w/a wooden leg named Smith!
What's the name of his other leg?

They are also not in the song. This topic has been skirting Off Topic territory, can we reign it in?

But I love me some Raisinets. Mmm Mmm

Well, if Bismarks are filled with custard and not jelly, they're still on topic, since Al mentions Bavarian Cream filled donuts. That's a really nummy custard donut. Mmmmmmmm!

I'd rather have a jelly donut than a box of one dozen starving, crazed weasels, though.

Now you all want me to go to Krispy Kreme.

So what about the reference to Columbia House. Do you think it was designed to be a slam?

Joining the Columbia Record Club is indeed a greater commitment than having a wife and 2 kids :P

re: Bismarks in MN they're filled with jelly, and people in NY don't know what they are -- the donut shops don't carry them. Perhaps in WA they're filled with custard.
Very regional donut.
This means something. This is important.

I don't think the record club reference is a slam, just another pop-culture reference. That whole line, with its takeoff on the fragility of some relationships and the onerousness of subscribing to a club where you have to send stuff back on a tight deadline if you don't want it, is a great example of the subtle humor of Weird Al.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
