ALL STAR COUNTERPARTS

The television show, "Survivor All Stars" pitted some of the greatest Survivor contestants against each other in a brutal showdown. Our "Weird Al Survivor All Stars" has done the same. Let's take a look at how our final nine All Stars compared with their television counterparts.

First up:

ALL STAR COUNTERPARTS #1

Lex van den Berghe & anthontherun

As an avid Survivor fan, anthontherun probably wouldn't like being compared to probably the most sore Survivor loser since Sue Hawk. But the two All Stars actually have quite a bit in common.



Lex van de Berghe started his Survivor career on the third season of the series, "Survivor: Africa." In his initial season, he formed a solid, strong, and very powerful alliance of three, which consisted of himself, Big Tom Buchanan, and Ethan Zohn. The three rode the alliance all the way to the final four. Ultimately, however, Lex lost out to his alliance partner, Ethan. While he was happy for Ethan and the two became good friends outside of the game, Lex always felt just a little upset that he came so close before getting cut.

anthontherun started his Survivor career on the first season, "Weird Al Survivor." Just like Lex, anth formed a strong, powerful alliance consisting of himself, Genius in Maine, and Kevbo1987. The alliance plowed through the competition and reached the final four, and even final three! Ultimately, anth also lost out to his partner, Kevbo1987. And like Lex, although anthontherun was happy that one of his alliance partners won, he couldn't help feeling a little let down that it wasn't him in the winner's circle.

Once in All Stars, Lex attempted to continue his original alliance with Big Tom and Ethan, despite being placed on three different tribes. After ending up on the same tribe with Ethan, he was forced to betray his good friend. Lex later got burned by a tribal shuffle which left him in a position to save Amber Brkich. While Lex was trying to play multiple sides in the game, he ended up getting burned himself.

When "Weird Al Survivor All Stars" began, it was clear that anthontherun, Genius in Maine, and Kevbo1987 would attempt to rebuild their alliance, despite being on separate tribes. Later in the game, anthontherun betrayed a friend just like Lex. The difference here is that instead of burning an alliance partner, like Lex did, anth burned someone who was outside of his alliance, spacedingo. But ultimately, just like Lex, anth was overpowered and betrayed by a much stronger alliance.

After getting voted out, Lex van de Berghe took the loss very hard and became very bitter and angry with the people who betrayed him. As strong of a competitor as Lex was, he seemed to lose touch with what the game was about. The real quesiton is this: Will anthontherun follow in the footsteps of his television counterpart? Will he let anger and revenge take him over? Knowing anth, I'd be willing to wager that the comparisons between Lex and anth END when they get voted out.
