I've been a long time "Weird Al" Yankovic fan since his first album came out. I know from reading past interviews Al was influenced by artists like Frank Zappa and Spike Jones. My question is, what does "Weird Al" think of the nuclear polka band, Brave Combo?? They've been around for over 25 years and I think if Alfred hasn't heard of them already, he really should check them out. "Weird Al" and Brave Combo have a lot in common. Both have brought back polka music in a very cool way, introducing this "forgotten music" to a new generation. I would be in accordion heaven O-) if Brave Combo and "Weird Al" could come together and record an album someday. That would be so cool. I can always dream.
I know of two additional interesting factoids that "Weird Al" Yankovic and Brave Combo have in common .... they are all vegetarians and have been immortalized in an episode of "The Simpsons" (in recent TV history)! Matt Groening is a fan of both artists like I am!
Polkatively speaking,
Linda
Culture Club taught me love and acceptance and Weird Al taught me not to take life so seriously.
