Didn't see a topic for this, so I thought I'd start it.
Personally, I consider this my favorite song on my favorite album (as of right now, you never know with album 12 ). I'm not really sure why, though; maybe it's just catchy, maybe the subject is just weird enough to work.
I also just noticed that in between the lines "the perfect waffle recipe" and "You'll never find a batter any better..." there's like this pan flute thing, like at the very beginning of "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel, which I'm pretty sure is the song he's style-parodying, so maybe he sampled it.
Anyways, pretty good song IMHO.

Well, as with just about any style-parody, you can hear elements of more than one song by the artist. Sledgehammer definitely is the most recognizable, but I'm sure there are other songs by Peter Gabriel that had an influence. I do like this song.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

The ads in this thread are for waffle makers!
Anyway, I think this is an okay song, but not great. It's quite good musically, but ... I've never really gotten into the lyrics.

Personally, I've never liked Waffle King too much, I enjoy it, but I don't rank it too far up on my list of favorite songs of Al's.
I remember when I was younger and I would hear this song, I would always think of my dad because he makes breakfast in the morning and he used to heat up Ego Waffles for me. Looking back on it, I realize that that was a pretty stupid thing to do, seeing as my dad didn't really do anything other than put the waffle in the toaster.
