Jeremy, I thought the same thing. I should have recognized the artist for that Bjork video as being John K. This could be very interesting.

That was my first thought that it had to be for a lead parody, but it could be for a second video, which might be the follow-up parody, or even an original. No idea how long it takes to animate a 3 minute video, but you'd have to start early. It's not something that can be done in a day. Even that website said they'd been at it for a few weeks already.

Then again, if that's the case, Al's taking a chance that the album is popular or promoted well enough that there would actually be a need for a second video.

I was under the impression that the Betty Boop-esque characters were just placeholders because they were easy to draw with the limited people working on the project at the moment. Final character design still TBD.

I think what she meant was that they were using Betty Boop cartoons more as a frame of reference on the style of both the animation and the character design, which they wanted to keep simple because of the smaller crew working on it. Those are probably not going to be just placeholders but rather the actual character designs used.

I don't necessarily agree with Katie's assessment that the designs and poses are Grim Natwickesque (think '30s Disney and Fleischer cartoons), but it seems her heart's in the right place.

And yeah, let's hope there's enough interest for a second video.
