I did that, too, on the last day of school. And I got pretty much the same response, only they did applaud (pathetically), just to be polite. It was about the 6-7 minutes long, but I did it as a speech. I would have done stuff like scream and roll around, etc., but it would have got the other teachers mad because all the classrooms are inside and there are no doors to any clasroom. Go figure. My teacher (the same teacher who really liked my talent show act) said "Very, um...interesting...", then made me sit down. Oh well. I do think Albuquerque needs the music and all the vocal emphasisms (is that a word?) for it to be fully effective.
My Friend and i tried to sing it for a talent show, but he had an asthma attack half way though... but the show had to go on so I finished alone we even got a participation ribbon. :-D

Yesh, welcome. *Is 2 1/2 months late*

Well, I feel the same way as Twinkieweinersandwiches, and I don't want to look back 16 pages... but have any of you seen the "lyrics" for Albuquerque in the Running With Scissors booket?

Way back when I was just a little bitty boy living in a box under the stairs in the corner of the basement in the house half a block down the street from Jerry's bait Shop... You know the place... Well, anyway, back then life was going swell and everything was juuuuust peachy... except of course for the undeniable fact that every single morning my mother would... you know what?  The rest of these lyrics aren't gonna fit on here.  There's just no room left.  What a drag, huh?  I guess we didn't plan this out very well... probably should have used a smaller font or a bigger piece of paper or something.  Sorry.  We all feel horrible about this.  Well, I guess you'll just have to listen really carefully and try to figure out the words for yourself.
Good luck.

...Sorry bout that.
Anyway, nice to know everyone's doing Albuquerque live everywhere- now if only my school had a talent show...

I did Albuquerque live in one of my classes... they liked it. Of course, I'm known as "that funny song guy" around the entire school...

You know, has anyone every tried to see if Al put any hidden message in the printed lyrics for Albuquerque? You know, every 27th letter or something like that (since 27 is a funny number)?

Well, I just tried it, and in case you care, the hidden message is:

wisetycvxlgeaetyotatyo (1st letter, 28th, 55th, etc.)
or
bemnpaeebnhnlnlteeslf (27th letter, 54th, 81st, etc.)

If you just use the part that he wrote instead of the real lyrics ("you know what, the rest ..."), it comes out to:

yrehrdolgeel (1st, 28th, 55th, etc.)
or
lyrueeelirrd (27th, 54th, 81st, etc.)

Yes, I'm bummed too. >:S
