Can't play an instrument anymore, but I can somewhat sing.

Even less than somewhat currently since my voice is hoarse after all that screaming at Chicago.

WHiZZi, what are your thoughts about this project? Do you like it? If you don't like it, there's no point in approaching Jay.

I got an answer!

:onfire:

They can really do whatever they like - as long as it in no way implies it's
any sort of officially sanctioned item - as long as it's not sold. If it's
sold, it gets into lots of complications.

So if it's not sold, then what's the point again? And if it's not sold, then it seems to me if it is available as a download we wouldn't need to put it on a disc.

What about the silhouette thing, did Jay have an opinion/concern on that?

Yay WHiZZi! :onfire:

I know the plan was to sell an album. But the good news about not being able to do so is that it won't matter if we sing over pre-recorded karaoke tracks -- which will be less complicated in the long run, really.

(I'm assuming this means they'd be available for download from a web site, rather than on CD. But then a question that emerges is where to host the tracks...?)

Anyway -- here are some of the choice karaoke tracks I've got, for your inspiration. I'm sure some of these are ripe for parodies, but parody is just not my forte! Collecting karaoke discs, however, is. :choon:

And I've alphabetized them because I'm a nerd.

Adia

Amazing

American Pie (Don McLean, Madonna, AND Al versions - sheesh!)

Bitch

Black velvet

Borderline

Brown Eyed Girl

Come on Eileen

Crazy for You

Don't Cry for Me Argentina

Dream On

Favorite Mistake

Girls, Girls, Girls

Groovy kind of love

Hysteria

I Don't want to miss a thing

Imagine

I Will Survive

Jeremy

Jump

Karma chameleon

Like a virgin

Like a prayer

My heart will go on

Photograph

Nothin' but a good time

Ray of Light

Sex and Candy

Thank U

Unforgettable

Wake me up before you Go-Go

Welcome to the Jungle

Where have all the cowboys gone

YMCA

I also have one disc of all showtunes and one disc of all Al. PM me for more info!

Ratbert, pick the one you think sounds the best and go with it. I'd veer away from parodies and Albuquerque, but anything else, why not?

I would love to lend my vocals to this project. I wish I would have known about it sooner but, I was out of town. I work with a program called Acid. I also post my finished creations at Acidplanet.com. Lots of artists there work together without ever meeting eachother. They do their part and send it off to the next person who adds their part and sends it back. I haven't done that yet but I hope to soon. My buddy Eric will probably help me with any instruments that I can't find a loop for except for an accordion. He doesn't have one of those. Good people of WOWAY I lend you my vocals if you want them. If you don't that's ok too. :) I can give you a link to my page if you want to hear my songs before you say yay or nay. :)

I think that acid website would be a great place to organize this thing.
