Okay, here is an mp3 of the Wal-Mart interview. It's about 15½ megabytes, so depending on your internet speed, you may want to start the download then go make yourself a sandwich. It's just over 11 minutes long. He does say "...probably stay away from charity benefit songs...", but doesn't say "definitely stay away from...", and doesn't mention WATW specifically. Anyway, here is the link. The part of the interview in question is about 2 minutes and 10 seconds into it. Enjoy.

thanks! I tried to access that off of Wal-mart before from a link provided here or at another Al site, but They wouldn't let me listen (due to dial-up. I HATE Dial-up!)

Thanks for someone finally providing an alternative means of DL.

Thankfully, Al has a lot more class than to do that kind of a parody. His humor is always in good fun as opposed to that racist crap. If the WATW parody is true, I know he'd make it awesome and totally unoffensive.

Ugh. That was awful.

Yeah, Al is a Class act with a capital "C". I know his song will be hilarious, but respectful.

These unfunny dolts who used to work at Hot 97 will be lucky to scrounge up enough change to buy the new AL-bum when it comes out.

That is horrible! I'm so glad those people were fired, because that is just so wrong!

If Al does parody WATW, it will defintely be a first-class tribute, not this hate-filled crap.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Not only is it racist, but it doesn't even rhyme.

Not so much that, but it doesn't fit the meter. I tried singing the song to WATW*, and it was all over the place. Very poor parody writing, apart from being unfunny and racist.

I guess I could search for an MP3 of the song and listen to how it came out, but after reading the lyrics I have no desire to.

*quiety, to myself. . .God forbid I would sing that out loud!

Their was a song called We Are The Worms that was played on Dr Demento a long time ago but he had to stop playing it because the original music was still there (it is credited to some other people but it wasnt really by them). It is sort of irrelevant to this conversation but I was wondring if anybody has a tape of the song being played on the show ( I have the full song but i am looking for Dr D talking about it).
