Al's a comedy artist specializing in satire. He can't do a song about anti-filesharing without also pointing out the ridiculousness of artists whining about their songs being downloaded. That's his job, to point out pretention where he sees it.nedseagoon @ Aug 21 2006, 08:23 PM wrote: You know, I was kind of surprised that the song wasn't more anti-filesharing. From the comments he's made about it, Al does seem to take a dim view of it personally, but in the song all the jokes were at the expense of the greedy rock stars and the hamfisted RIAA.

This song is really great! It's not as good as other songs he's done. I still like Horoscope and Hardware Store better, but this is a very good Weird Al song.
Cane and Rinse: weekly thoughtful video game discussion. Give it a listen, won't you?

I thought it was a good parody of both RIAA's extreme response to song downloading, and why it shouldn't matter to the artists.WowMan9000 @ Aug 22 2006, 02:25 AM wrote: Okay I've listened to this about ten times now. Seriously, the only joke I can find in it is if Al wrote this as a "Wouldn't it be funny if a bunch of artists actually banded together to write a song like this?" but other than that, the lyrics just aren't funny.
