It just sounded so.... choppy? It didn't flow like the last ones

I think absolutely there is a lack of flow. It starts of well enough, more or less (even though lets get it started didnt have nearly as much punch as it should have had), but then it falls face first on a crappy rendition of Take Me Out, which by no means should be a song that sounds flat whatsoever.Marko_The_Odd @ Sep 8 2006, 08:16 PM wrote: Lack of flow? Are you sure you're not accidentally listening to The Angry White Boy Polka?
I actually found this polka flowed pretty well in that the songs didn't really seem just pasted togethor. However when I beleive it flowed it well I think it might have flowed a little too well, in the sense that I found he seemed to be racing through the songs. This is not too say that I'm complaining that certain songs didn't get much exposure, after all look at some of Al's previous polka with songs like "Rock Me Amadeus", "The Reflex", and "Renagade of Funk". I think there's the a lot potential in this polka, but one of the big problems is more in the order of the songs. I think Gold Digger was a lousy closing for this one. What could have worked better is if Al took the Speed of Sound/ Float On part and put it at the end and had the ending build up more on Float On.
The technical aspect is always impressive. The harmonizing, sound effects, and all that stuff is all there and very nice. Technically speaking, all of Al's songs are done very intuitively. Its just instead of the song building and hitting a stride, it just sounds like Al's singing along to the radio dial in his car.Ovitz @ Sep 8 2006, 08:54 PM wrote: I hope everyone is keeping in mind that these are very very crappy mp3s, and they should hold off the judgement of sound quality (like not anough punch, etc) until they hear the songs as Al intended.
I'm not talking about the artifacts heard in mp3's. I'm talking about the entire flow and song choices in the song.Ovitz @ Sep 8 2006, 02:54 PM wrote: I hope everyone is keeping in mind that these are very very crappy mp3s, and they should hold off the judgement of sound quality (like not anough punch, etc) until they hear the songs as Al intended.
