I didn't think it was Chamillionaire, but I can certainly understand the mistake. A lot of people (especially those who aren't really Rap/R & B fans) have probably never seen Chamillionaire. I haven't ever seen even a picture of him aside from his album cover, so I wouldn't know him from Adam. Plus, a lot of times when there's a close-up in a video like that, it's meant to tell the viewer that the person in the close-up is someone important. That and the fact that Chamillionaire likes this parody so much is probably what made people think it was him. I'm sure it wasn't just because people saw a black guy and automatically assumed it was him.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

They rate it 3.5 stars, his best since Off The Deep End.
Well, it's nice to see a good review for Al from Allmusic for once- they've been really dismissive of him for ages.

It annoys me, though, that they're treating SOL as a return to form, when I think one of the most remarkable things about Al is his consistency. Unfortunately, I think we'll have to brace ourselves for a lot of that kind of coverage. Oh, well. Don't call it a comeback - he's been here for years!

"Wouldn't know him from Adam" is a phrase meaning, "I couldn't even start to guess who he is" or something like that. The Adam is Biblical, I suppose.
Dave? Hello Dave? Is Dave there? There's a block in your t'ilet.

So getting back to album reviews here....

After about 30 listens heres my updated overall impressions.....

Althought i love the "rock" songs Ill Sue You and canadian idiot they get old fast once the jokes wear off, just not as musiaclly pleasing to keep listening to as the rest. Basically the same goes for Drive Thru, great parody, funny, but doesnt hold up to repeated listens.

Fave song is a toss up between W&N and Confessions.

Oh and I've managed to master rapping W&N after much effort....jeez thats hard :D

Ok, I got my copy today, and I can give a better sypnosis of the album. As far as the songs go they are all outstanding. The parodies are well done, some of his best work. I love, love, LOVE the Black Dog bit in Trapped In The Drive Thru. I hope they do it live, because that would be awesome to see. The originals are good too. Though the 2 i like best are Pancreas and I'll Sue Ya. I can heavily hear the Brian Wilson influence in it. He took the best parts of his songwriting, from the Pet Sounds/Smile era. I'll Sue Ya just rocks, I could see cover bands playing this song. The animated videos are well done, though the one for Pancreas is actually old stock footage of educational videos for the most part. And the making of movie is cool. Nina makes a brief cameo at the end, she's looking into the studio as Al is recording his vocal for Don't Download This Song. You don't see her face, but it's cute nonetheless. The pictures in the book are good, especially to see Al and the band pimped out. Overall, I give it a 10, his best work since Bad Hair Day.
I was elected to lead, not to read.

Oh yeah. This album rocks. :ttr:

I'll post my song by song breakdown sometime soon (as if you care :P ) but needless to say, this is one of his best albums ever.

Time to hit repeat!

Heh, I've heard the album before. It's awesome. I plan on doing a song-by-song review, but I deleted the files... I did so two days ago. So yeah... I forgot most of them anyway... But as I said, when I get SOL (hopefully after school tomorrow) I'll do so.

I am bored, and I'm new here, but I'm going to review the album.

White & Nerdy
A great song. The lyrics are funny and the rap beats make it even funnier. I would have appreciated it if the song, say, had one more verse, or something (the Chamillionaire version is 6 minutes long), but it's still one of my favorite songs on the album. ***

Pancreas
This is a good song, but after the first verse there is a pretty long gap of music without any lyrics, which is both baffling and disappointing. I can't help but wonder if that patch is designed more for the animated video than the song itself. Still, the principles of pancreas attraction is quite amusing. **1/2

I'll Sue Ya
The weakest link on the album. The lyrics seem uninspired, the style parody is kind of "Germs"-like in its "too-much-like-the-original" sound, and I just didn't think it was funny, except for the New Jersey and Colorado bits. *1/2

Polkarama!
Not as good as "Angry White Boy Polka" (I think I prefer the ones that have more of a theme) but I still like it. "Float On" and "Pon de Replay" get nice covers. I'm disappointed, however, that Al didn't use more of "Feel Good, Inc." -- I'd have liked to hear the chorus. ***

Virus Alert
Amusing and really funny music, although I find myself less interested in this having heard it a couple of times. Can't wait to see the video, though. **1/2

Confessions Part III
One of my favorite tracks on the album. I note a strange antagonism towards pets in the song though -- Al's character puts his bodily fluids on not one, but two of his woman's animals. What's up with that? ***

Weasel Stomping Day
Again, a bit of a gap in this song for some pained squeals, but it's funnier than "Pancreas". And might I say, the show may be hit-and-miss but Robot Chicken's video really added to the amusement factor. **1/2

Close But No Cigar
One of my favorite originals ever. The music is great and the lyrics are funny. I can't wait to see the John K. video for this poppy masterpiece. ***

Do I Creep You Out
I thought this was pretty funny, although I think the cheering will baffle people in the years to come. My favorite lyric: "Every time I shake your hand, now/Wanna stick your fingers in my mouth" ***

Trapped in the Drive-Thru
The masterpiece of the album. It's brilliant in its aggressive insistence to be about absolutely nothing. I won't say more -- hear it to believe it. ****

Don't Download This Song
Also funny. Mentions of Lars Ulrich and Tommy Chong are most amusing. ***

You're Pitiful
It may not be on the album, but it's better than "I'll Sue Ya". That deserves a mention. I think the second verse could have been stronger -- I'm sorry, but even for Al, "farty pants" is a little too juvenile for my tastes. **1/2
