B&W video of Al w/ weird hairdo and US flag suit = Huh?

I was just at Weird Al's MN State Fair concert, and during one of the video break things, there was Al in a Black and White video with bull horn looking hair and a suit that had stripes and stars on it. I think he was in front of an aqueduct, kinda flailing around, talking about his hair, and how he should grow it out some more. I looked like it was supposed to be a Marylin Manson spoof, and was just wondering what it was supposed to be, and the name of the weird song that was playing.



PS It sounds like something that'd be on Al-TV. (i missed the orig air date and have to wait for the Aug 29th airing), so I decided to post it here and not in the tour section.

It was from The Weird Al Show (not AL-TV)--a parody of Prodigy's "Firestarter" called (appropriately) "Lousy Haircut".

What you saw, dear sir, was one of Al's "mini-videos". Al made a few of these short 30 second to 2 minute video segments for "The Weird Al Show". These were played generally during the show at a point when Al would sit channel flipping in his Eyeball Chair [if you saw the show, you'd know what I mean ...]. For instance, he had made mini-videos for his already released songs "Livin' In The Fridge" and "Lasagna" on various TWAS episodes.



But the one mini-video that got the biggest response by far was not one made from an old favorite, but a new parody, instead. The target this time was the song "Firestarter" by Prodigy. The parody first aired on The Weird Al Show on September 20, 1997 in Episode #3604: Promises, Promises. That was the video shown at your MN concert -- and at almost every Al concert for Touring With Scissors and the Poodle Hat Tour -- "BAD HAIRCUT".



And he looked a little something like this --





The lyrics go:

"I'm so angry at my idiotic barber.

Think I'll stay in here til it grows out a little.

Got a lousy haircut, a really stupid haircut!

What a silly haircut! I can't believe this haircut!"



A lot of folks had hoped it would turn into a full blown video, but alas, the song is now over 7 years old and is unlikely to be fullly parodied at this point.

I was happy to have seen the video snippet of Lousy Haircut in concert. I had seen screen captures of it, and had heard the song (bootleg? What bootleg?) It was very funny.

I have one that I am sure everyone will know but me. In BTM what is the clip where Al is lamenting his fate with a can of gasoline as if trying to whimmilate himself? I'm sure it came out during my Al-less years post college.
