The Ultimate Parody Guide

I'm trying to tell if "American Slob" is a parody... I can't tell. It sounds slightly familiar. I can't post the actual song, but I can post the lyrics to see if they seem familiar if someone cares to read them.

EDIT: I wanna add something to the unreleased list - it's an early version of "Polkas On 45". Considerably slower, longer, and very echoey. But I can't identify all of the original artists - can someone help? The tracklist is below...

And I would guess that After the Fire is right. It was originally written by Falco, but that version was never a hit in the US.

You may also be interested in this little tidbit of info about Airline Amy. Here's a quote from Weird Al about it.

"Airline Amy" was actually inspired by a couple of songs that I heard by Nick Lowe and Jonathan Richman.

Found it in the Ask Al archives, so perhaps Switchboard Susan really WAS one of his inspirations.

Oh, I'm almost certain it was. The titles are similar, and it's just a similar sounding song overall. Not sure about Jonathan Richman, though...

I'm nearly 100% sure that "Talk Soup" is a style parody of "Superstitious" by Stevie Wonder. The trumpets in the song sound almost exactly the same.
