As many of you know, I'm making a flash video for Everything You Know Is Wrong right now. But something recently occured to me...

I really feel like I should be asking permission from Al about making these videos. He seems pretty cool about it, considering he links to so many from his own site, but it still seems like much more than a courtesy to ask before uploading a video all over the internet with his copyrighted music. Albuquerque: THE MOVIE has over 100,000 views on Newgrounds alone.

The only problem is I don't really know a good way to contact him. I could leave a message on his MySpace, but that would probably just get buried in a sea of other messages. Plus, I don't even have a MySpace account. :/

Maybe you should PM Bermuda on here. It might take a while, but you have more luck doing that, or you could send a letter to Jay. I totally understand why you feel bad about it, I feel bad for a lot of the people(Including Al) who spend time and money to release out a bunch of their videos on DVD and then people all over see it for free on Youtube instead of buying it. If there were no Youtube, I'm sure that the Ultimate Video Collection would sell a lot more.

PMing Bermuda is definitely the best way to go. He does read his PMs and responds relatively promptly. He may be busy now with the tour, but he'll still get back to you.

I wouldn't send a letter to Jay Levey if I were you. He might try to make you sign something or pay royalties or something.

But I don't really think they care if anyone makes videos of his songs. Like you said, they post them on the mothership, so obviously they are appreciative.

emailing Bermuda would probably be faster -- it's bermuda at weirdal dot com

i think he responds to email faster, but that's just my personal experience.
