Just thought of this now... (Thank you media player shuffle!)

WIWYA is almost a dead on parody of TV Dinners by ZZ Top. Almost.

The keyboard in it, the fairly repetitive guitar line... dunno why I didn't hear it before.
Sever your leg, please. It's the greatest day.

I never noticed that before. You're right, the main riff is very similar. Still, listen to "Dirty Laundry" and it's even closer.

Always loved the video for "TV Dinners", BTW.

I know a lot of people have stated over the years that Frank's 2000" TV is an REM style parody, but I find it also bears resemblance to Matthew Sweet's I've Been Waiting:

But it might just be me.

Albuquerque is not a style parody of The Rugburns. The song Dick's Automotive was released after Albuquerque. Dick's Automotive was released in 2004. That's what iTunes and amazon have said.

I just went on Amazon and didn't see that.
Product Description wrote: Originally released in January 1995, this six-song EP contains the single The Fairies Came and the nine-minute crowd-pleasing favorite Dick's Automotive. 6 tracks.
I'm guessing that the '04 date you saw was a rerelease.

some of those unreleased songs, Are Just Ones Al mentioned in interviews and stuff like that. and "Hey Food" I don't remember anyone even mentioning that. Doesn't sound like an Al song

"Hey Food" is a song from his coffee-house days. It's mentioned in the Unreleased Al Songs list on Demented Discographies.
