Also, I notied that "That's Your Horoscope For Today" sounds a lot like "Superman" by Goldfinger. I think it does...just something I noticed.

Well, it's possible - "Superman" predates YHFT. I would say that YHFT is more of a general Goldfinger style parody though.

I remember hearing that song on Tony Hawks pro skater, I thought it was al just because of the way it starts out, I heard some other song the other day that started off with almost the exact intro of DTBS but it was a newer song.

Yeah, DTBS is definitely "Big Mess" by Devo. The intros are almost identical, though Big Mess is a little slower.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder from Running with Scissors is a style parody of Zydeco.
What?

About "You Make Me", though it's clearly an Oingo Boingo parody, I don't think it's strongly influenced by "Grey Matter". It's clearly ripping off "Little Girls" in two ways: the title "You Make Me" alludes to the opening lyrics "I love little girls they make me feel so good, I love little girls they make me feel so bad", and the two songs have exactly the same jerky meter.

I'm sure there are other things taken from the Only a Lad album, but the main reference seems to be "Little Girls".

Also, the "Yes!" in "Dare to be Stupid" is from Devo's song "Explosions".

One little thing: the "oh-oo-oh" Al throws in towards the end of "You Make Me" is something Elfman does in the title track "Only a Lad" and also in "What You See".

Sorry to bump this, but I was just listening to "Close (To the Edit)" by Art O' Noise, and I noticed that "Dums" that are manually pitched changed sound similar to the same "Dums" used in "Waffle King" (If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to "Close (To the Edit)" at 0:45, and then compare it to "Waffle King" at 0:05).

Anyway, I didn't put a lot of thought into it, but the I ran across this page:

http://www.the-breaks.com/search.php?te ... vic&type=6

I don't know if it really means anything, but I found the similarities uncanny...

Oh, and I'm pretty sure "Talk Soup" is a "Superstitious" style parody...
