On SOL, it seemed, and Al confirmed in an interview on VH1's top 20, that the parodies for "Confessions" And "Drive-thru" were because of how stupid and pointless the originals were. ... for THOSE reasons, he should parody her. She deserves it.
My significant other is German. Does that mean they will make me eat a BIG BOWL OF SOURKROUT?!

Seconded. I personally like her music, but, it is rather pointless most of the time. And, not for nothing, as pointless as "Closet" was, it was pretty damned fun.
Her songs are dance music. They're not supposed to have a point. Though really, I wouldn't consider songs like Just Dance or Paparazzi pointless. They have a storyline that you can follow.
I'd say that although a Lady Gaga parody would fit well on the album, it wouldn't be out of the question for Al to not write one. The polka is pretty good material, but, many people apparently are looking forward to it.
"An eager nation waits while Weird Al ponders Gaga parody?" (a headline for an article I found on the internet a while back) Maybe Al can't avoid it. Of course, Al would have to try to find a topical subject that hasn't been touched by the "foul hands" of the millions of YouTube users.
Speaking of YouTube parodies, I'm pretty sure I saw a "California Gurls" parody there THE DAY THE ORIGINAL WAS RELEASED.
True. (funny story, "Craigslist" was one of those songs. haha) That's still awkwardly fast... then again, I'm talking about roughly the same method Al himself used to write the lyrics to "The Saga Begins," so I guess it isn't that weird.
