There may have been two women: a dancer and a contortionist.JEDM wrote:I'd like to know who the woman was...

Re: Perform This Way: The Music Video
Not sure who the contortionist was, but the "Gaga" dancer body was Vlada Gorbaneva. She is who is listed on my call sheet for the video. Don't think it should be a problem to reveal that, as she really does a great job and should be given some credit.NH Weird Al Fan wrote:There may have been two women: a dancer and a contortionist.JEDM wrote:I'd like to know who the woman was...

Among other things, Al's new blog recognizes the work of the contortionist, named Marissa Heart

I love this video, in all of its nightmare-fueling glory. I'm surprised that it's getting as much flak as it is, though I do understand some of the criticisms. I think it succeeds in enhancing the experience of the song, which should be the point of any video!

I love the video. It really does a good job of satirizing the original, AS IT SHOULD.
I really can't think of anything else Al could've added if he didn't want to go all crazy...

Re: Perform This Way: The Music Video
There's another factor to consider that may have been part of Al's inspiration. Has anyone seen the cover of Born This Way? It's literally a picture of Lady Gaga's head poorly Photoshopped onto a motorcycle's body.

That's very true. I wonder if this is a jest at that.

Re: Perform This Way: The Music Video
I'm guessing Al had the idea for this video long before he saw Gaga's cover. If you remember, he did a similar thing with a Jennifer Lopez video during an awards show several years ago. This gimmick was also used in Aerosmith's "Pink" video, and we know Al is a fan of theirs. This strikes me as an idea he's wanted to use in a video for a long time, and just found a good opportunity to use it. Similar to the backwards gag in "Amish Paradie".
