Like everyone else, the video gave me a new outlook on this song. In fact, I have a new theory about what Al was going for with "Foil" as a stand-alone song: The character is actually a fictionalized version of Al, a parody song artist known for his tunes about food. The first verse is essentially a parody of himself--it's the "Royals" spoof early Al would have written. The turn is Al, the silly singer, snapping in the middle of his song and ranting about conspiracies and the Illuminati. The abrupt ending is basically the same thing as the video (and that someone here suggested): they got to him.
