I love the originals. After Sports Song goes, I'm going right to voting for the parodies.

How in the world is "Jackson Park Express" tied with "Sports Song"?

What if it's SS fans' plot? You know, like in those suvivor reality shows where weak players plot to vote out one of strong players ? Because that's the only way it would make any senseavesjohn wrote:How in the world is "Jackson Park Express" tied with "Sports Song"?

I am so toying with switching my vote to JPE. I like the song okay, but it's sort of in the middle for me. As far as epic album-enders go, it's no BBOTIM. As Mellow Weasel suggests, I mainly just want to see all the SS haters' heads explode when it hangs on for yet another round.

You're all insane. JPE is the best thing on the album. (Except for maybe First World Problems).

Re: Mandatory Fun Survivor R4
It's good. I've listened to it fewer times than any other track, though, mainly due to the length. Someday I may like it better, but at the moment it's just sort of in that "good-not-great" category for me. It would have been my pick next round anyway because I like all the other songs much better than either this or SS.
That said, I still haven't switched my vote. Waiting to see how things stand come Thursday before making a decision....

No plots here. I've been voting SS since round 3. Honest.

Maybe it's because I never got into Cat Stevens, but "Jackson Park Express" still does nothing for me.

It doesn't have anything to do with knowing Cat Stevens – if someone have asked me who that is before MF, my guess would have been "probably a cartoon character" (because "Cat"), but I love JPE.Genius in Maine wrote:Maybe it's because I never got into Cat Stevens, but "Jackson Park Express" still does nothing for me.

Seconded. Al's good at taking bands/genres one might otherwise ignore or dislike and making them listenable - case in point, "Word Crimes". I myself only have two Cat Stevens songs in my iTunes ("Peace Train" and one of his contributions to the Harold & Maude soundtrack), and yet in spite of that I still love "Jackson Pack Express".mellow weasel wrote:It doesn't have anything to do with knowing Cat Stevens – if someone have asked me who that is before MF, my guess would have been "probably a cartoon character" (because "Cat"), but I love JPE.Genius in Maine wrote:Maybe it's because I never got into Cat Stevens, but "Jackson Park Express" still does nothing for me.
But not in a creepy way.
