It'll be non-stop, sheer talent - what a deal! We walk onstage, and don't walk off until we're done. I don't think that's happened since 1982!

That may be true, but the VIP pricing is still overkill. It just kinda feels like a betrayal to the whole intimacy thing? Idk. I’ll sleep on it. I’m still having a lot of emotions about this.
I hope the encore will be an extended 20 minute version of Toothless People, complete with guitar solos and people in tooth costumes (yeah I know he said no costumes but that's why it will be a surprise. He's got to make an exception for this one)

Yeah, I agree... The cost and all the stuff in the VIP feels like it doesn't fit with what the show will be. Like if it isn't going to be a multimedia extravaganza like the other tours, then why does it cost as much as if it was one? I mean, I don't want to miss going to at least one of the concerts but...I also don't want feel like I wasted my parent's money...
I'm a ghost that haunts WOWAY oOoOoOoOo
Concerts:
8/29/15
6/23/16(meet and greet)
5/19/18
8/10/19
6/18/22(meet and greet)
Totally agree on the VIP thing being an overkill, I would think that probably everyone that would have been interested in that sort of thing probably got their fill on the last tour and wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance to do it again, but what do I know? And of course if the demand isn't there, any unsold VIP seats most likely end up sold in the pool of regular priced tickets in the weeks leading up to the show, which further screws the loyal fans that bought their tickets on the first day but opted out of a VIP ticket.
On the other hand, at least Al is only charging $300, while a lot of acts these days are charging north of $1000, and requiring you to pay money to subscribe to their fan club to get access, not that it makes it any better, but in a sense it does.

Could you tell me where you are finding the VIP ticket prices, please? I received my email invite today and I'm now registered, but I can't seem to find prices anywhere. Thanks!
I really must find a way to come up with that $279. Seeing as this will most likely be the last time I’ll ever get to see Al, if I make it that far, I better take advantage of the opportunity to meet him one last time. I doubt he’d remember me, but I know I’ll never forget that magical evening back in July of last year.
Ticket prices seem in line with what I remember for the last tour, which I found to be fair. However, I do agree that the VIP experience is quite costly. Honestly, I’d rather see something for, let’s say, $150, with no party or games. Maybe one exclusive piece of merch, and then the meeting with autograph and photo.
$279 is quite cheap compared to most acts, but with it being for the hardcore fans, I hoped for cheaper.
In the end, I know that meeting Al is worth it. Let’s see if I make it.
Also, I don’t like this Verified Fan crap. It’s been a nightmare for other acts, from what I’ve read. It also makes no sense, as many of these venues do not sell through Ticketmaster whatsoever. Also, I remember buying last time through CID / Songkick (nice because they took PayPal) and it went well. Why not the same this time?
Stupid pre-sales. I just have the feeling I’ll miss something and end up disappointed with how rotten my luck has been.
Anyway, if I go, maybe I’ll see one of you there! Have fun!
The greatest thing a human being can do is make another person happy. If I can ever help do that for you, just let me know!
I'm already a little frustrated with the Verified Fan presale, because you're limited to choosing only one show, and you can only buy 4 tickets for that show. There's a good number of hardcore fans who go to multiple concerts in one tour year, and/or those who buy multiple tickets for family and friends.
Plus, the concert closest and most convenient for me was not on the list of dates when it was announced; luckily I saw it a few hours later. By then, I had already figured I'd have to go to different show, and I had already registered for the presale. I can't seem to find any way to change my show choice for the presale. Any ideas?
***EDIT***
Someone on FB mentioned that it IS possible to register for more than one show, if you go back to the registration page and register again. In the Ticketmaster Verified Fan FAQ it says you can do this. I hope it works.

That's a relief! I was stressing over what show to register for! I went ahead and registered for all the shows I plan to attend and a few on my maybe list. I know the chances getting selected for all of them are slim, but even if I get selected for a few I'll be happy, then pick up the rest on the regular sale. Gonna be a whirlwind frenzy of ticket buying on Wednesday and Friday! I like that all the dates are announced at the same time, makes it easier to plan, but I did like it much better when the on sale dates were staggered! Easier to buy tickets and much less painful on the wallet to have it spread out!

If only Al was doing that...
I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or if you meant you'd rather him do that than this, but the kind of compilation I was talking about wasn't that. Squeeze Box is a boxed set of all his albums plus a bonus disc of content that hasn't been on any of his studio albums (including some truly rare/obscure stuff, in addition to stuff that's not that rare or unavailable). What I was talking about was a compilation idea focusing on his more underrated songs, the stuff that weren't music videos or singles (at least not A-side), the stuff people might not be familiar with if they only had his compilations (and maybe a studio album or two), Stuff like Midnight Star, The Check's in the Mail, Cable TV, Airline Amy, and other great stuff that doesn't get the same level of attention as songs like Eat It, Fat, Amish Paradise, or Perform This Way.
Of course, with Al not really liking uneccessary compilations, it is a wonder that he's decided to put a bonus disc in a boxed set of all his albums (making fans who have them all pay again for every album just to get one disc/record of new content, at about fourteen times the cost of a specially-assembled compilation).
