I think it is funny that AL played off the old joke "Cunning Linguest" in this song and "master debater" in his kids book. Almost crossing the line on both occasions. Those jokes go hand in hand...lol

This is just nothing short of brilliant. Lives up to it's expectations in every way possible. And it has to be one of his best vocal performances too.

The begining wasn't that great - it's too obviously autotuned and/or completely out of Al's singing range, and sounds bad in comparison to the original. But that's the only flaw that I find

So many people confuse autotune with other additional effects, such as reverb. The slight effects do help his tone his sound better but they aren't being used to help fix his pitch (done by autotune). I do agree it can be sound very over-processed at times, though.

I dunno, I've produced my fair share of music. I know the difference between reverb and autotune. With that being said, I detect A LOT of autotune throughout this whole album (I'm looking at you "Handy") and there definitely
is quite bit in "Word Crimes". With that being said, he is excused because 1) I know he can sing and 2) Al is parodying music that exists in an age of prevalent autotune usage, so he kinda has to. "Blurred Lines" is coated in autotune.

Agreed. I work in audio and there is a pretty liberal use of autotune all over the album. Not my cup of tea from a personal standpoint -- when every.single.note is corrected to be 100% on pitch it starts sounding really artificial to my ear -- though I accept that's the way the pop industry rolls nowadays.
