But if we're talking about using it on a Tribute Album (you remember the topic don'tcha?) then it does become a problem.

Also your question could have gone PM too, ya know.

and your answer could just have well been a PM also... but this is for reference and for anyone who has any imput.

i was talking about a tribute album. y is that a problem? we cant use the original music?

Ditto here. I was posting not so much for my own opinion, but more in my duties as a Mod.

No problem at all as long as you GET AL'S PERMISSION. For that you need to contact Jay Levey.

And before this discussion goes any further in the direction of MP3s, which have been discussed here ad nauseum, let me refer you to this and this. Any further discussion of this should be taken up with WHiZZi.

Resume topic now. :stern:

[MOD Edit:Except it's not. We just discussed this. Once more CCS and you will get an official warning. - Scottidog]

Yeah ccs... uh, I'm going to have to refresh my ebonics skills before I can understand what you just wrote.

OK, here it is. It's still not perfect, but we can fix the problems together.

And please, this was mostly my idea, so don't claim later it was your's.

27 Mile trailer- script by James C.W.

Wow! Very good. I just watched the 8 Mile trailer and I can picture it.

Thanks, scotti! I'm very proud of the work I did and I'm happy people like it! :D

OT Question: Would sending the script to Al be considered trying to send a parody idea? I probably wasn't going to send it either way.

I'm guessing it wouldn't make it past UHJeff.

Same here.

Another OT question: can one send stories that they've written with Al in them (of course, they'd be tasteful and without parodies in them)? Or would that again be considered an idea?

Just guessing here, because I really don't know the answer, but if it's not a parody I would think it would be ok.

The reason Al doesn't accept parody ideas is the legal thing. Al doesn't write stories (that I know of) and so it's not the same.
