If only Al was doing that...

I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or if you meant you'd rather him do that than this, but the kind of compilation I was talking about wasn't that. Squeeze Box is a boxed set of all his albums plus a bonus disc of content that hasn't been on any of his studio albums (including some truly rare/obscure stuff, in addition to stuff that's not that rare or unavailable). What I was talking about was a compilation idea focusing on his more underrated songs, the stuff that weren't music videos or singles (at least not A-side), the stuff people might not be familiar with if they only had his compilations (and maybe a studio album or two), Stuff like Midnight Star, The Check's in the Mail, Cable TV, Airline Amy, and other great stuff that doesn't get the same level of attention as songs like Eat It, Fat, Amish Paradise, or Perform This Way.
Of course, with Al not really liking uneccessary compilations, it is a wonder that he's decided to put a bonus disc in a boxed set of all his albums (making fans who have them all pay again for every album just to get one disc/record of new content, at about fourteen times the cost of a specially-assembled compilation).
I'm sure the reason he is including the bonus disc is specifically so you arent just buying stuff you already own

Hopefully everything goes well and more dates are added. I have to see one of these shows but I don’t know if I can survive a trek to Atlanta.

Someone on Facebook said that Rubén would not be part of this tour. I was surprised to hear that, and didn't quite believe it, especially after Bermuda recently made this comment about the upcoming tour:
"It's hardly unplugged, it's the full band and it's gonna rock!"
I assumed that "full band" meant all of them, but maybe Bermuda meant they would have all their instruments, not just acoustic. The person who made the comment on Facebook couldn't remember where he read it, but I did find
this article in the L.A.Times, which mentions "three bands members."
Has anyone else heard from a reputable source whether Rubén will be part of this tour?

I mean, I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty certain Rubén will be there. I don't think the LA Times has any inside info that we don't know about. Probably the writer just looked up his band, and saw that he had three original members.

I hope Ruben is there, but I've actually already had the same thought. It would seem that Al could save some cash and play the keyboards himself. To be honest Ruben distancing himself from fans on the last leg of the tour is what put this idea in my head initially, but I'm sure that's No list me and my tinfoil hat ways

Hate this presale concept stuff... Good luck for those of you you go the first step tomorrow

Has anyone received an email today about the presale? I registered for 3 shows, but haven't heard anything.

They just said Tuesday night, so assuming they are running off of PST, they still have a lot of time left.

My email invite to register for the Pre-Sale stated that if I was verified and selected, that I would receive an email by 8 PM EST (I'm in the Southeast).
I also registered for 3 shows -- 1 show for 2 tickets (Cleveland), and 2 shows for 1 ticket each (Atlanta, Augusta) -- but I did not receive any email regarding being selected, so I'm assuming I'll have to wait until the public sale on Friday. Pretty bummed, to be honest. Oh, well. Best of luck to y'all, though!

The original email from the Weird Al fan club, telling us about the presale, said we would hear by 8pm Eastern time.
If verified and selected to receive an offer code, you'll receive an email on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 by 8PM EST.
