I have an idea for a new thing. It'd be like the first "Best Song" thing we did (submitting lists, followed by the countdown), except like Jon's current tournament, it would be for the worst song. Would anyone be interested in this?

I think that was suggested during the Best Song countdown. I think it's a swell idea!

i was thinking about a new game and i don't think it will be 100% successful and it might not work out but i was thinking of a weird al "would you rather?"

example:
would you rather get a million paper cuts on your face or get eaten by piranhas in the bathtub

Great Idea, but 1 question: who will take the time and work to do it?

Wasn't that "The Greatest Al Songs of All Time"?

I'd probably be in charge.

Yeah that would be pretty cool. That way more people could weigh in.

But I'd have a few amendments...
I don't think we should include unreleased songs like Dave did. It made sense for his list but for this one it should be limited to the 144 songs Jeremy and I used in our tournaments. That way we don't get crap like "Dead Car Battery Blues" and "Cheerios, Apple Jacks, Cheerios" cluttering up the top of the list.
Along the same lines I don't think multiple versions of songs should count differently. Who cares if you're voting for The Extra Gory Version or not?
Let me know if you want some help figuring out how to tally up the votes once you've collected the data.
Oh yeah, and gimme a bit of time to finish out my tourney first!! 8)

I agree entirely with this! Most of us would agree that a great deal of Al's very early unreleased material is vastly inferior to most of his studio-recorded material. I mean, if I had to consider unreleased songs in the mix, I'm not even sure that "Syndicated Inc." would make my top 20 of Al's worst songs.

As for alternate versions, I also think they should not be included, since you'd then have the problem of having to consider every single alternate version of an Al song that you've ever heard. So, even though "Couch Potato" might not make your list, the Nickelodeon performance of the song might.

It may also be a good idea to not include "Spatula City" or "Gandhi II" for similar reasons. A lot of people would probably vote for them on the basis that they're not even "songs" at all, and that would screw up the list. But that's up to whoever runs the thing (looks like it'll be Barney Slayer).

Great ideas, Jon and Jeremy. I think that they'll really help when I do this. And Jon, don't worry. I was planning on having you finish your tournament first, anyways.
