What if there was a preliminary round to eliminate one video from the SOL collection before it began. That way there would be an even 32.

Actually, I was thinking, that as well as including all of the official videos, it could also include several of the best Fan Made videos, like the ones by RWappin, the Fan-Made compilations by Kristine, and other ones that are linked on the Mothership. Personally, I find several of those to be MUCH better than a few of the official ones!

Including the fan-made stuff would bring the overall total up much higher. Of course, it could be organized so that the official ones and unofficial ones are bracketed separately at first, and then face off against each other later on.

What do you think? Should we include fan-made ones, or just stick to the officially released ones (including all the SOL stuff and Bob).

I really don't think that the LITF and Lasagna ones should be counted.

I mean, if people have such a thing against Ghandi 2/Spatula City because "They're technically not songs, blah, blah, blah" and we'd be leaving them out of other lists, why not two videos that aren't even full videos.

From what I remember, the LITF has five different shots in it; hardly even a scene. Why should it get counted along with videos that have the full song in them? Same with Lasagna. It's not the full song, and you can't put it on MTV as a video on rotation, so why bother counting it?

yeah, we shouldn't use the short weird al show ones. i think we should stick to Al's 33 and keep the idea of voting out his worst SOL one first.

Yeah, the TWAS stuff shouldn't count. I wouldn't really count the fan videos either, except maybe the official one done for W&N.

Maybe we take the list of 33 and do the Worst Video tournament first but leave out the video that won the Survivor poll ("Pentiums," right?) we did, and then go ahead and do the Best Video tournament leaving out the song that won the Worst.

No in fact it's being left off for the Worst Video Tournament, thus meaning it's the BEST video!

Oh, that'll teach me how to read. I thought you guys were talking about making a best video tournament.
