Well, didn't Suzanne make some weasel sounds as well? That's where I think the squeaky toys come in. I'm tellin' ya, at least one squeaky sound is a toy!!

I guess I'm with the majority that hears the stereotypical 60s holiday song on this one (and Al has said that this is what he was going for on the Dr. Demento Show as well)....

I realize all that. Still, the song sounds closer to Bob Rivers to me. Just my opinion.

Have you ever seen someone purse their lips together like a fish and suck in air?  (Or been the person that did it) It makes a kinda squeally sound.  It sounds like something like that is in there- I think its what you guys have said are the "squeaky toys".  So its a combination of veggies/chips/edibles, Nina doing the squeally fish face noise, and Bo's squaking.
I've had a parakeet before.. You're probably right.. with Suzanne and Nina making the noises in front of Bo, and Bo repeating it back. Parakeets do the sucking in air thing too.

Most reaction to Weasel Stomping Day is at "gut" level (pun intended).

There's no way I can be talked into enjoying it, no matter how much I understand it intellectually.

That's exactly how I feel. The documentary is really cool and I appreciate the creativity and glee that went into creating the song and sound effects, but this one is not for me.

Good Old Days also fits into this category for me as well.

Just my personal preference.

Definitely not my sense of humor. But there are certainly other things on the ALbum that I do like!

I bet you're right. Wow! I never thought of that.

Well, maybe you're thinking of the Bob Rivers' classic "Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire." :santa:

Would anyone else love to see the footage of Suzanne, Nina, and Bo making weasel-stomping noises? I think it would definitely make my day...

I was showing the "behind the scenes" video CD to a co-worker who is a casual Al fan, and when she heard the part about WSD, she mentioned that "Weasel Stomping" is a game a Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza. It's like "Whack-A-Mole" for small children and consists of weasels popping up all over the place so the kids can stomp on them.

She said adults often tried to play the game but ended up breaking it because they were too big. (Why is it I have a picture in my head of Al suddenly hurrying Suzanne and Nina out of a Chuck E. Cheese with a guilty look on his face. :F )
