Which is the very reason my boyfriend won't listen to WSD...it hits a little close to home, he loves ferrets..for some reason..

That's exactly how I feel. The documentary is really cool and I appreciate the creativity and glee that went into creating the song and sound effects, but this one is not for me.

Good Old Days also fits into this category for me as well.

Definitely not my sense of humor. But there are certainly other things on the ALbum that I do like!
My girlfriend can't stand the song, she just feels sad listening or seeing the video. It's a perfectly funny song in one sense, but the "graphic" nature of it all is a little grossed out.

I do however like Good Old Days, that one is kinda funny, it fits perfectly with that sort of 50s mixed up nostalgia.

WSD is a sad song, and I can understand Al's vegan position on any cruelty to animals.

Way to go Al!

We all know Al loves animals, but he isn't vegan because he wants to save them, he is vegan for health reasons. Besides, he cheats. Also, I don't find WSD to be a sad song at all. He's just poking fun at ridiculous holidays/traditions. It doesn't bother me to hear the song.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Well, you know how it is when every concert venue offers pizza to the band...

he's only human, after all. Into each life some cheese must fall.

Yes. That's what I meant. He has had my chocolates, for example, and Suzanne has said that once in a while, he will eat a grilled cheese sandwich. Don't worry, he would probably never really hurt a weasel, or eat one, for that matter.

:P

ya i figured it was a dairy/eggs thing. i hope he does continue to cheat every once in awhile- cause your body can get used to not eating it and reject it later. my mom didnt eat beef or pork when she was doing yoga stuff for years and years, and now she gets really sick if she eats it.

There's also a B vitamin or two that just aren't available in vegetables. Your body can keep recycling for quite a while, but at some point you need to top off a bit.

Of course, there ARE pills for that, too.

I don't think Al's ever said he was vegan. I think I've read that he has vegan aspirations... Anyhow, I remembered (and more importantly FOUND) a quote from the PH tour:

Al: No, I, you know like if there were more vegan things available, you know, on the road it would be a lot easier for me you know but if the band is having pizza like why should I not have that bonding experience of pizza with the band? Why should I deprive myself of that?

Well here is my 27th post. I was going to save it for the 27 topic or for my birthday on Friday, something significant, but what the hey, I'll use it to talk about something close to my heart.

If anyone wants to know about weasels, I probably can tell you what you want to know or where to find it.

Here's something to start on. Wiki on weasels. Be sure to catch the last paragraph under popular culture references, perhaps someone here has already contributed to this page. ;)

Also hit here, here, and here.

I'm slowly warming up to this song. Although I enjoy the video to a certain degree, I still stand by these statements from another thread: (edited for length)
Obviously, from my name, you can tell that I LOVE weasels. (Ok, so not actually weasels, but their domestic cousins and movie doubles, ferrets.) When I first saw the preview on AdultSwim's page, it was difficult to watch. The weasel getting stomped out of it's skin whole was amusing cause you know it couldn't really happen that way. But some of the other injured weasel gestures were way too close to things I have actually seen in real life. I was astonished to find myself chuckling at the very end of the song.

Typical Californian behavior to create something insensitive to weasel (ferret) lovers everywhere.  :P

Weasels and their kin have largely been quite misunderstood over the centuries. I don't believe they deserve their "weasely" reputation. In fact I consider ferrets to be sort of the "Weird Als" of the domestic pets. They have great capacities for fun, play and love. Never ones to take themselves seriously, they dance with abandon. It's been the combination of my fuzzy weasels and our boy Al that have kept me going through some tough times in recent months. I guess the mention of my favorite animals by my favorite musician just can't be a bad thing.
Impatiently waiting for July 13th, Brady Theater, Tulsa, OK
