But keep in mind that locations of a fast food chain are given a range of prices they can charge a given item for. So really, Helen's "your mileage may vary" warning is very apt, as one Jack in the Box might charge a little more or a little less on an item than another location. So the exact same order could very well add up to $5.82 at another Jack in the Box.

Ah, Weird Al fans...truly suffering for their hero.

No, no bendable Jack toy.

However, she did ask whether I wanted ketchup for my fries without me even having to ask.

Helen, that is so great that you did that. We don't have Jack in the Box in MI anymore. I think the only fast food chain in these parts that serves curly fries would be Arby's. May I add that Mr. Bunny Slippers also was only willing to buy one lousy root beer for two people. Wow, big spender!

Wow, nice, experiment, OE. There are no Jack in the Boxes in my state either.

Very nice experiment, Helen! Thanks for checking that out. So, it looks like Al was fairly accurate. I agree that the onions would possibly drive up the price a little, maybe to $5.82.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Lots of places do charge you to add "extras" if they don't already come on your sandwich..but the rest of that, wow, a little eerie!

Your dedication to Al-related science is motivating, OE. You are truly an inspiration to us all. :D

Well, obviously Eugene was off that day....:P

In Mr. Bunny Slippers' defense, that cup was huge-- a "medium" held nearly as much as two normal-sized soda (or pop) cans. One rootbeer for two people who presumably share spit regularly anyway seems perfectly reasonable to me.

And didn't they end up with a large anyway?

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info on the medium soda. I haven't been eating at fast food places much lately. When I do, I usually just get a sandwich to go, and have my own drink at home.

They did end up with a large, didn't they, SG? That was probably like a liter, right? I suppose that would be more than enough. Nothing wrong with sharing with your SO.

About a liter, yes. Trust me, a large tends to usually be TOO large...unless you have someone to share it with...
