I really don't know where to post this so I thought I would ask here cause who knows? There may already be a topic about it. I'm organizing a beer festival as a fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and am looking for a way to invite Weird Al to peform at it that's better than the Ask Al section of his web page. There's no hurry being that the event itself isn't going to be until June 10th, 2006. Thanks in advance for any help any of you may be able to give. Not counting on anyone knowing anything, but it seems I'm running out of options.

I would think that Jay Levey would be the person to contact. I don't think he actually does Al's booking, but he could put you in touch with the right people if he can't help you. With any luck, Al will be on tour during summer 2006, but who knows he might be available?

If you need the contact info, PM me. I think I have an address for him. It's not like a big state secret or anything. Jay's in the business of being contacted on Al's behalf, after all. I just don't like posting that info on the open forum.

And if Al doesn't want to do it (and the event isn't happening RIGHT in the middle of an Al tour)... who knows, Steve Jay may be interested. I'm sure he's just as opposed to pancreatic cancer as Al, and doesn't necessarily have Al's concerns about being associated in peoples' minds with large quantities of beer. :P And Ak & Zuie ROCK.

Hey, that's a good idea OE. For Ak and Zuie, I think Jay's still the man to contact. I know he represents Steve, but I don't know about Steve and Pete.

Thanks for the info guys. There's actually several performers I am in the process of getting in touch with. Al just happens to be one of the performers at the top of the list right now. I was afraid the idea of it being a beer fest might drive people away, but I'm actually planning on it being a rather classy event. It'll be more like a whine tasting event with beer instead of whine than a go to the beer fest and get drunk with your friend type event. It's also going to be all microbreweries and brewpubs. I'm not involving any of the major commercial breweries.

Can I post a topic that asks if you had to describe Al through one of his songs and/or albums. Which one would it be. And would this be in the Music and Record part of the forum.

Is there a topic about the first concerts like The First Tour, and The Tour of the Universe in 3-D? I would like to make it in the Tour section, of course.......

I don't know of one. Music and Record would be the appropriate Forum for such a topic.

I don't know of one. Tour Talk would be the appropriate Forum for such a topic.
