Let it be known, that on this date, April 26, 2005, Jake Waters gives you the following information.

I just found out that there will be several animated Weird Al music videos. The video we've seen drawings from, the one about the cat is going to be called 'Close, But No Cigar'. It's about a cat who's trying to hit on girls, but he finds out they're not his type. The animator, who is working under John K, says that it is quite raunchy at times. "The taste in some of the animation is not my taste - it's a little extreme. But it's still a pretty cool video I think. It's pretty wacky." And to put rumors to rest, this song is NOT a parody.

I found this in an article on LexisNexis. It's from The Halifax Daily News (Nova Scotia)
April 6, 2006.

Several, eh? Well, in addition to whatever Bill Plympton's working on, there has been the recent discussion about "Robot Chicken." I wonder....

Well, here's the snippet of the article that mentions that there's more than one video.

"Weird Al is gonna release a whole bunch of animated videos," says Cayford. "And he's getting all the top animators to do it. And I get to be one of those people, which is pretty nice."

"I don't know if I deserve that (recognition) right now," adds Cayford. "But it's cool."

I guess we'll see what happens! :)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but according to http://newgrounds.com/lit/weirdal.html , Daniel Rocha, the guy who made the Angry White Boy Polka flash video, was asked by Al to create some animated videos. I don't know if he's working on one or not, but it's clear that Al is pretty excited about this animation thing.

Well, that article was posted this month and he said that he hadn't heard from Al or Jay for quite some time. Here's hoping they can still get him involved, though.

I just got this in a Google Alert. Al is mentioned about a little more than half way down the page.
Q: That was his latest video, right?

Kricfalusi: He has an album coming out where every song is animated. But I can’t tell you any of the names or anything because they’re still debating what the release date is and they asked me not to give away any details.
An animated video for EVERY song!? :whoot:
