I think the video Kevbo was talking about was the one for DDTS. He was forward thinking to Wednesday, but also saying that Monday's song will be DDTS as well.

well, it's not like he's had an album leak very early before (that I know of). I doubt he's taking any extra measures.
Though you can expect it to be circulating online 1 or two days before it comes out at least. that happens with all albums these days, mainly because of record stores that sell the albums early. I don't conscider that "leaking" though, even though it is early.
Another reason for it not being leaked yet is the fact that the general public's anticipation for Weird Al albums is very low before the release. once they hear it on the radio they think "hey, Al must have another album out" and then want to get it. This is opposed to albums by popular bands that EVERYONE is waiting months for. this causes the "leakers" to work extra hard to get it circulating.

Yes, Patti. That's exactly what I meant.

Albums don't usually leak until about 2 weeks before release.

I have to admit, when I first heard it was rumoured that WaN was the song being released Monday, I was skeptical. Why would Al give away one of his biggest, most potential money-making songs on the album for free? It didn't make sense to me. But now that I see DDTS is getting a little more attention now (with the video on Wednesday) I seriously think the song premiering on Al's MySpace is DDTS. Two different songs in one week, almost a month before the actual album is released? I don't think so. As much as I'd love to hear two new Al songs in one week, I don't think it's gunna happen. Plus, I love the irony of Don't Download This Song being a free legal download.
But, then again, I could be totally wrong.

Here's my new theory...
Al just recorded W&N and as we know the video is not even in production stage until tomorrow. Suppose Al makes "Don't Download This Song" the first single (which is technically meaningless as no physical single is released) but really just be something article worthy. Think of the press for You're Pitiful. Now imagine an even bigger wave of press coming as a result of Weird Al putting out a We Are The World style-parody about the dangers of file-trading and ironically putting the song (and probably the animated video) out for free online. The video was pretty inexpensive to produce so there's no real problem with releasing it as a freebie and I'm sure Volcano execs would understand that it's part of the joke.
This buys him some time in the press which advertises that he has a new album coming out in late September. By that time the White & Nerdy video can be produced and it will tie in perfectly to the release of Straight Outta Lynwood. This way, DDTS is another song the public has heard of that will be included, so people might be more interested in buying the album. This goes in style with Al releasing a song a short while before releasing an album in various forms (Party at the Leper Colony, The Weird Al Show Theme, Since You've Been Gone, Waffle King).
I think if Don't Download This Song is the first single, White and Nerdy would still be the first song on the album as it's the tie-in to the front cover and title and it would be the single released to promote the album when it was released. It would be a great move on Al's part and gives us something to whet our appetites until Sept 26.

how do you know that? I didn't think any information concerning the production of singles has been released.

Volcano (Al's record label) doesn't release singles.

12-2=10 and weren't we still happy when we thought that there were 10 songs on the album. There is no problem here... UNLESS ALEINS WIPE OUT TECHNOLOGY MAKING IT INPOSSIBLE TO LISTEN TO THE NEW SONGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
