Well, we're getting a new Al song tomorrow no matter what (unless the site crashes). So, I don't think ANYONE will be disappointed (unless the site crashes). Whether you're expecting DDTS or W&N, it's a LOCK that you'll be getting one of them tomorrow (unless the site crashes)! So nobody will have anything to be upset about (unless their computer breaks down).

I really hope the site doesn't crash. :P

Hey, I'm so psyched about a new song that I would even appreciate Polka In The Closet if that's what Al wanted to release tomorrow. It's all good here. Keep those minds open!

:peace:

 You know, no matter who's right....no one's winning anything if they're right. (Well, you could argue the people who guessed W&N will be getting another song, but that's just semantics  )

We'll find out for sure in a mere 23 hours ;)

If it was simply a World Premier to promo the album, it would be either a short clip of the song, like we got with Couch Potato, or in a non-downloadable format. Al's albums sales are driven by one or two "big" songs. If you give away a CD quality track for free, there's no incentive for the average listener to buy the rest because they would already own the song they like.
Wrong, wrong, wrong again. Al wants word to spread to people other than his core fangroup. He wants songs like White and Nerdy to spread throughout the internet and attract the powerful marketbase the internet holds. By offering it as a free download, he is opening the doors to people who want to spread it in videos, ytmnds, animations, download hosts, etc...Just look at all of the attention You're Pitiful has recieved. It only makes sense that Al would put out the lead single of his album where people can get it and spread it to others.

yeah, myspace has a real problem with downtime it seems. as well as the site being super-slow. no doubt weirdal.com will host a mirror, but I wonder if myspace will be the "main" host. It all seems silly to release it on myspace rather than his official site. In my opinion, he should keep all "major" announcements and releases on his main site, not some unreliable slow third party. Really, I can't remember the last time weirdal.com went down, but it seems myspace is down (or slow) a lot.

I've seen myspace down, but I've never had a problem with it being slow. He's using myspace because it's his new toy, and the song will reach a lot of people there. Let him have his fun.

I'm with you, dingo! We'll all know soon enough, so why bother debating it? (unless you enjoy pointless debates, in which case-- go at it! XP)

He also had issues with the YP download slowing down his site (Those mirrors we're all added gradually) that he wasn't expecting...so he's hoping to avoid some of those problems
