<AkroProbst> No alliances? That reminds me of the Seattle Mariners during the 1986 season when they invited Pink Floyd to play a concert before their game in the Kingdom. Of course, Pink Floyd wasn't really into the whole baseball scene, so then my fiance bought a new car and started running over hot dogs in the driveway, and I was completely unable to get tickets to the game, and I was all like, "I want tickets!" and she was all like, "Tough", and then I was all like, "oh".

I've thought about it and I've realized that both Ak and MT made some great points as to why they should host. Even though I showed support for Ak in the P&G thread, I don't mean to say in any way that MT shouldn't host...I'm sure he'd do a great job.

My initial thing was that MT hasn't played the game yet. Other than the first season, where it was new to everyone, the hosts for all five subsequent seasons have been former players. I'm sure it was very different for Jeremy comparing hosting season 1 (the best season ever) and All Stars because of the experience he had, not only hosting but he played (and won) in season 2.

So when it comes to tradition and experience, Ak is the obvious candidate.

But...the possibility of a host who hasn't played the game yet intrigues me. I think it would be interesting to watch MT run the game when the players are more familiar with it than he is (that's not knocking him, but he hasn't been here very long--although he's certainly made a positive impression in that time).
