I think you can do better than just a lyric mention. Dave's worked with people, who've worked with people, who've worked with Al.
This means something. This is important.

There have been other people who have used lyrics before.

Only one good hotel in town, eh?

Thinking of possible hotel-operator, bellboy & baggage mishaps... that had the makings of quite a video. :P
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Here's a little better one for David Letterman:

*Antonio Banderas was a guest on Dave's show, as was Madonna,
who did a film called "Truth or Dare" in which Antonio appeared.
*Madonna performed a different version of "Like a Virgin" in that film.
*Al parodied Madonna with "Like a Surgeon, and switched to what he calls the "Truth or Dare" version of the song shortly after the film came out.

Alex Trebek
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I've never played this game before...but I'll give it a try!

Billy Boyd stars in "Lord Of the Rings". One of the Compossers for "Lord of The Rings is Sir James Galway. Sir James Galway played Flute and Tin Whistle on "My Heart Will Go On", Al parodies "My Heart Will Go On" in concert.

Shirley MacLaine

George Washington is on Mount Rushmore with Abe Lincoln,
who once lived in the White House which was also once the home of LBJ,
who appeared in the "Gump" video.
