You should've heard my girlish squeal when I randomly found BHD.

Cat, I can imagine. For me, OTDE was so elusive. I just couldn't find it, and was about to give up and have Sam Goody order it for me. After all, the girl that works there already thinks I'm nuts...

I decided to try Wal*Mart one more time, even though I knew it wouldn't be there. I was flipping through the CDs, RWS - got it. BHD - got it. Then I spied an apparently nekkid and very wet Al! It was all I could do not to jump up and down and squeal. Breathe deeply, walk calmly to the check stand and non-chalantly purchase the CD. Maintain cool til you get to the car where you shred the outer cellophane wrapper to drool over the liner notes and pictures.

Oh yeah, I can understand...

The hard one for me to find was the UHF soundtrack. All the others are easy to get around here (Baltimore, MD).
Hmmm...something's gone horribly awry here...

I did have to order that, and Polka Party. And Permanent Record. And WAY Live. And my first copy of UHF.

I didn't have to order any of mine. Then again, I live in a pretty large city and I did get the UHF cd for Christmas one year, so maybe my cousin did have to order that. I don't know.

Even Peter and the Wolf?

Can I be your friend?
Yeah, if you don't have the Peter and the Wolf CD--search, search, search!! It totally polkas!! I play it "for my kids" a lot. Any recording where AL talks is fine with me!! (How much do we LOVE the commentary track on the UHF DVD!?!) -

And if you love AL, you're ALready *my* friend!

BTW Al...  If you get the new album out sometime before I die, I promise I will buy a copy or 27!  I'm just saying.
I bought the Food and TV Albums for the same reason, just like to show the music stores and record companies how much we love The Great One!

ScottiDog, you're not dying, are you?!?? ;( We all complain about how long it takes for a new AL CD to come out, but 1) excellence takes longer than mediocrity, and AL insists on perfection, and 2) as a mother of three, I can tell you that once you have kids, you have very little time to do other things (not to blame Nina for the four-year gap before PH, but AL's worked so hard for us for so long, I think he more than deserves to have a life now.) He knows we'll wait. We'll bitch, but we'll wait. 'Cause nobody brings us joy more than that hunky polka-playin' master of hilarity! :D

Don't hurt me! I wish I had more Al stuff..(You should've heard my girlish squeal when I randomly found BHD...)

I'm poor, too; I just have lots of AL stuff because my priorities are...either messed up or right in line, depending on who you are.

And I know about the girlish squeal...when I was a young lass devoted to the Dr. Demento Show, I went to a record store with my big bro, and I spied the answer to all my prayers! Apparently, "Weird Al" Yankovic had released *an album!* Now I wouldn't have to wait for the weekend just to hear the man who had not only saved comedy music, but had made it relevant to my generation!!

Then, when IN 3-D came out, I got that too (and saw my first live AL show and met him on that tour). And since then, I've ALways kept track of when he's got a new CD so I can buy it the day it comes out. But now it's so nice to have the Mothership to tell me the date ahead of time (thanks, Bermuda!) My feeling is, AL is my lord and savior, and I want everything official the second I can get it! (I should really stop being poor.) <_<
