I'm thinking of doing "Couch Potato", "Trash Day", or "A Complicated Song" this year's talent or should I say multi-cultural ( :sleepy: ) event this year at school.

dunno though...I'm the shy type

Hey, I know that guy!

Slappy my brudda! I know you! I saw you open for Al at Great America just a few months ago! "You-a-one-funny guy!" Of all of the show openers I have seen I think you are the funniest by far. Working for a radio station is one of my dream jobs (but I get the feeling that it's not as fun as it looks, am I right?) I told you how funny you were when you came off the stage after your set, but I'm sure I wasn't the only one; the crowd response was really good.

I perform as Al too. My gal Cid and I have made what we call 'Demented Karaoke", Al's and Dr. Demento's instrumental songs set with karaoke (CD+G) graphics. We never sell or share these and only use them for ourselves. My favorites to do are Horoscope and Wanna B Ur Lovr. Our list of songs keeps growing. I love to see people's reactions to Al's humor. Of course I remind them I didn't write it, and to buy Al's albums. Plug.

Glad to see you here on the forum! Hope to see you again Slappy!

As some of you know my boyfriend Kevin sort of looks like Al. We have performed small tribute shows around town. We normally do a Benefit every year for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, but unfortunately our schedule doesn't allow for it..But we are doing a few songs for some guys 90th birthday party next month. We also Love to sing Karaoke and we both sing Al somg when we go out. It wouldn't be a good night out with out doing an Al song!

Thanks for the love! That show was awesome. All the fans we so nice to me...they must have sensed that I was quite the Al Fan myself. What a magical night. Only way it could have been better was if it was Disneyland instead of Great America!

It can be quite fun...and then there are times that it is....less so. But I wouldn't warn anybody off of it. I've learned alot, met a lot of really cool people, and had a lot of fun...however, if you like that green stuff ("money" I believe it is called) stay far from radio...becasue we don't have any. lol

Now Kar-Al-oke...THAT'S where the money is at!

I have performed "Albuquerque" many MANY times, except with out music. of course, I give Al full credit. Anyways, I performed it at school my freshman year (got second, first place went to a garage band.) Went to perform "I Was Only Kidding" sophomore year, then found out that music and lyrics in the gym don't agree with my hearing aid (in other words, I couldn't hear the music well enough to follow along.) So I performed Albuquerque again, and got second... again. There was no talent show last year, and for my Senior year, who knows? I have performed "Albuquerque" at friends' and relatives' houses, on the bus, church picnic, at a HOBY seminar, and in Mexico. Whew! Now, there is a friend who wants it on tape. Thank You Al for the song!!!!
