Good one, Bruce. I too am crossing my fingers that BoBD is not the Green Day parody. It's an okay song, but there are way better ones on the AI album.
I think "Wake Me Up..." is a better target, too, but unlikely. Is it really true that it's about Billie Joe's dad dying in the war, or is that an urban myth or something? I do think it's about his dad dying, but I didn't think his dad was killed during a war. (Either way, it's unlikely Al would touch such a personal song to the lead singer.)

Meadows, Billie Joe's dad didn't die in the war he died of Cancer. It was David Failure who corrected me. So credit goes to him.

But the song is still about his dad's death (in the month of September), right? I still think this subject matter would make the song off-limits to Al, war or no war.

Yeah, you're correct, Meadow's.

From my knowledge, which I read in the EW review of AI when it came out, When September Ends was a tribute song to Joey Ramone.

Me...

A Polka AND parody of Green Day would kick some serious @$$! Although, the polka idea seems unlikely.

I was actually just thinking of this. People have been speculating an R Kelly polka like crazy but it doesn't even hold a candle to the clout that Bohemian Rhapsody has. I think Jesus of Suburbia or even American Idiot as a whole would make excellent material for a polka.

While I would prefer a GD parody, I had also thought of the possiblity of Al putting all the songs on the AI album to a polka. I wouldn't turn my nose up at such an idea. I don't think it's likely, but you never know.
But I will say that GD has earned getting their own polka medley more so than R. Kelly has. AI was a huge hit. TitC. . .not so much.
