Along the lines of "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "God Only Knows," & "Sloop John B."

I was already drooling when this was just Beach Boys. Now knowing this, makes it all the sweeter. :inlove:

There's a whole big write-up about the video on the website now. I'm not familiar with this animator, but the CGI pancreas looks really awesome! The little boy from the 1930s video clip reminds me of the educational videos from TWAS, so basing on what I read and saw so far, it should be a pretty cool video. :)

I guess it's no surprise it's a Brian Wilson style parody, as Al recorded with him before, I bet he's a pretty big fan. I'm more surprised no one thought of the most obvious (in retrospect) connection when we were thinking of who else's style sounds like the Beach Boys. I only know Brian Wilson as the guy from The Beach Boys, so they're one in the same as far as I'm concerned. I hope Al doesn't catch too much slack for making it sound like "another" Beach Boys style parody (see "Trigger Happy", also track #2). I doubt he will, but just a thought I had, so I thought I'd throw it out.

Ahem!

Well it could be more like later Beach Boys stuff like Good Vibrations or Wouldn't it Be Nice, or anything from Pet Sounds, as opposed to the typical surf rock sounds of their earlier days.  After all, Brian Wilson did re-record the album SMiLE in 2004 which was a fair sucess, so Al may have been inspired by that.

I'm very familiar with Brian Wilson, but I must say I had NO clue who Chamillionaire was until Al decided to parody his song. Doncha just love how Al bridges the gap in musical generations?

Yeah, hey, you people can't yell at us for not knowing who Brain Beach Boy is when you don't even know who Chamillionaire is :P

I'm quite surprised nobody knows who Brian Wilson is, but that might be because I'm Canadian and know of a certain Barenaked Ladies song ;) .

Well, I guess I'm one of those rare 40+ people who knows who both Brian Wilson and Chamillionaire are. Do I get a prize?

The idea of a Brian Wilson style parody sounds pretty cool. This should be interesting. A whole song about the pancreas! I think mine just exploded from all the excitement!

Hey yeah, I want a prize too! In fact, unless one of these unplaced originals turns out to be a style parody of some obscure band, I've heard of every single one of these people, parodies, polka, etc. Even Taylor Hicks (Though I only recently heard the song for the first time...gotta say, I think it's great parody fodder IMO)

I'm such a music nerd :lookaround:

This sounds like it should be good, but I'll definitely brush up on my Wilson. Everyone agrees it's Pet Sounds and Smile for this?
