I think though the song is not a side-splitting funny song....it is definitely quirky like some Al's other originals. In fact I think it is absolutely perfect. He had just the write slant on this issue...not too serious yet not a big joke totally either. It was ingenious how he released this song early for some pre-album release buzz on why you shouldn't download the new album illegally when it drops. Great comic effect of making a song DDTS available for a free download! The production values are some his best ever on this track. I am very pleased with this one!
Way to go Al! I did think he would use mimick different artists voices more (ala we are the world type of style) since that is what he is mainly known for...maybe the video will have some animated cameos from some various well known and recognizable artists.

LMAO I can't believe he said "You cheap bastard!" at the very end!
I listened to it and that caught my attention-- HEHE!
How long until someone registers "Cheap Bastard" as a username here?
As for replacing Yoda at the end of a show--- I cannot see it happening. Yoda is an iconic song-- and paired along with "Saga Begins", in costume--- is a superb ending.

I think this song used to be longer and something got cut. Why?
Go to the line where he mentions Grokster and Kazaa and stuff. Right as it's ending, pay attention to the background chant going with it. Now listen as it abruptly cuts off before fading out naturally as it goes into part two of that verse. And as the new part begins, you hear only the second half of an "ooooooh" background vocal. I only really noticed it while listening to headphones. And I also possibly only noticed it because I'm anal at doing edits of songs while maintaining a perfect flow as if the song was never cut at all.
Is this an interesting find or am I being too overanalytical (isn't that what this spoiler forum is about)?
EDIT: this transition happens at exactly 38 seconds. Get headphones.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was one. MySpace downloads (I've experienced anyway) are never perfect.

Thanks, Jace! I'm kinda not able to blast music right now, so that was most helpful! hehe, he kinda screams it, doesn't he? I love it!

i think it cuts of on purpose to make the "but" more punctuating... does not sound like a bad cut...

It could be that he put up an abridged version for myspace...

First off, it's a very good style parody poking fun at the dangers of downloading, why it's supposedly illegal and the ironies that nobody saw coming (like the fact that artists need the money supposedly to buy expensive things, despite the fact that they're supposed to make music for the joy of it). The only complaint I have is that why does this have to be the first single (downloadable or CD single) of the new album? I was hoping for [that other song] to be the true single, but this? Great song, worst choice for lead single.

I MADE AVATARS!
Since this song is still "spoilery"... I decided to post them here. Tell me what you think! More to come later...
