Sorry if this is completely the wrong thread to post this but I was wondering if anyone on here had any idea where Al get's the original celebrity interviews he uses on Al-TV. I kinda want to make fake interviews but don't know of a good source to find them.

I'm guessing he just finds an interview while watching TV that looks like it could make a good ALTV interview.

I'm thinking that there are legal rights for the videos, though.
So, I'm guessing all Al-TV interviews were taken from Viacom programming.

Based on the Ask Al below, based on the word "another," I'm under the impression that he gets them from old MTV interviews (or VH1, or Much Music, or whatever the case may be). A good follow-up Ask Al question would be whether he picks the celebrity first and then tries to find appropriate video, or if he finds a funny interview and that picks the celebrity for him.

Gina Asprocolas of Edison, NJ asks: Hi Al! I just saw your Al-TV special on MTV & I thought it was great! I know that you have to get permission when you want to write parodies of songs but, did you have to get permission from the artists (Cher, Steven Tyler...) for those crazy interviews??
MTV had to get permission from the artists. However, they only asked the artists if it was okay to use their interviews for "another MTV special" they were doing - I'm pretty sure they didn't say their interviews were going to be ripped apart on AL-TV! (Gee, all of a sudden, I've got new respect for those MTV guys...)

I've always wondered this too - I've known where he got the interviews from, but the funny thing is that I haven't stumbled upon any of the REAL interviews before...anybody on here done that yet?

Actually, I could've sworn that the original Eminem interview was part of his Behind the Music special on VH1...whenver that was.

I'm pretty sure that one of the original interviews was posted in the AlTube topic a while back.
