I watched you during the Gong show. I was thinking how great it must have been to be performing literally right in front of Al. I'd carry the 45's with you at the next concert you attend. You never know when you might be able to get something signed. I have Al's first album on LP signed by him and his band, and I had just randomly taken it with me to a concert one day, hoping against hope that I might be able to get it signed.
Turns out some random dudes I met at the concert (I'm very friendly) turned me on to the fact that if you went by the tour bus after the show, sometimes band members go and sign autographs for people who don't have backstage passes. I took their advice, and it sure did pay off. You never know!
[EDIT]: Just grabbed a snap of the record.

Bermie signed the back, and Ruben signed the plastic sleeve I keep the record in. Enjoy! [/EDIT]

And sometimes, people named Patti get to sit on Bermuda's (never "Bermie"!) lap!

Actually, Al called Bermuda "Bermie" in a video skit I saw once. Al came backstage to see how Jon was doing, and Jon was nervous about the show, and he threw up. It was hilarious. Since then, I've always said "Bermie". Not in person, though. The first time I met him, I said "Bermuda". The second time I met him, I just said "Jon". He called me by my first name, so I figured why not? Besides, we call Jim "Jim" and Steve "Steve".
Why? Is "Bermie" some sort of bad word?

Is it like mispronouncing Al's last name or something?

Somewhere in the deepest bowels of the Ask Bermuda forum archives, Jon said he doesn't like to be called or referred to as "Bermie"

He's right about that.....it appeared to be alphabet soup or something of the like...

It looked like salsa to me
I just figured if Al did it, that it must be okay.
